A WINCHESTER business has scooped a prestigious national award.

Bang & Olufsen Winchester won Dealer of the Year 2012/13 at the company's national conference in Oxford.

John Marshall, Managing director of the shop in The Square, which sells televisions, sound systems and other home technology, said: “To be recognised as the best Bang & Olufsen store in the UK and Ireland is a fantastic achievement for my team. It's hugely motivating for everyone here to be recognised as the best in the country.

“We have been nominated for Dealer of the Year for the last five years but just missed out each time. So to finally land the coveted top award is very satisfying for everyone here. It's an outstanding achievement if you consider who we were up against.”

Mr Marshall added the win was down to two factors - the standard of product and the quality of their service, whether in-shop or at home installations.

It continues a successful traditional for the Winchester branch after sales executive Robert Tottle won Best Salesperson the year before.
