A THAI restaurant raised more than £1,300 for a welfare charity by selling dishes named in honour of an Oscar-winning Hampshire actor.
The owner of the Bangkok Brasserie in Winchester Miff Kayum gave the Southamp-ton and Winchester Visitors Group (SWVG) £1,378 when it hosted its annual dinner in aid of the charity.
The cash was raised from ticket sales for the evening as well as from sales of the Jewry Street restaurant’s signature dish – Colin Firth’s Thai Mango Chicken.
Colin’s mum Shirley was at the event along with the chairman of SWVG Anne Leeming.
She said: “It was a wonderful sum of money. Miff and his team are great supporters of the charity and we’re very grateful for that.”
