BUSINESS is looking up for the county’s law firms, who are on an eight-year high.

The majority of law firms have said they feel confident about the coming year and many of them are growing and planning to invest.

According to a survey by accountancy and management group Smith and Williamson, which has an office in Southampton, 69 per cent of firms plan to invest more in IT, 42 per cent plan to set up new services and 29 per cent are looking to take on more office space.

The annual survey was taken by 98 firms from the UK’s top 250 in the sector.
