A COMPLIMENTARY seminar is being hosted for large Hampshire businesses to help improve staff performance.

Accountancy and investment management firm Smith and Williamson will host the event on Tuesday (FEB 24) from 8-11.30am at the Holiday Inn at Morn Hill.

Chris Appleton, partner in assurance and business services at Smith and Williamson, said: “The constantly-changing pension scene, taxation and the legal framework in which benefits are provided mean that most people don’t properly understand their employment package.

“Consequently, employers fail to enjoy recognition for their expenditure and the motivational benefits of providing a good employment package can be lost.

“This seminar seeks to clarify what’s happening in pensions, employment tax and employment law that will have a beneficial impact on your staff.”

Chris Murray, director in employee benefits, looks at changes to the pension landscape followed by Paul Tucker, partner in employment tax, explores employment tax.

Rebecca Combes, partner and head of corporate tax in Southampton, looks at employee equity ownership, all of Smith and Williamson and then Dorlee Monschau, partner and head of employment at law firm Coffin Mew LLP, provides tips on increasing employee engagement and managing performance.

Finishing the presentations is Peter Maher, director and national head of financial services at Smith and Williamson, who will look at pensions.
