A HAMPSHIRE business has been recognised as one of the most ambitious in the south.

Segensworth-based Powertecnique, which provides back up power systems, was named one of the winners in The South's Most Ambitious Companies awards.

Accountants Baker Tilly, law firm Rawlison Butler and consultants Endgame Insight researched and assessed more than 5,000 companies in the south of England to determine which companies were to be included in this award.

Powertecnique, which supplies uninterruptible power supplies and diesel generators to industries like the military, healthcare, education, finance, retail, nuclear and transport, had not been nominated by anyone.

It has an annual turnover of £10m.

Jon Da Costa, partner at Baker Tilly, said: “The criteria for this award include a desire to build a business of some significance, to be a leader rather than a follower, and an ability to think, and act, strategically.”
