The practical implications of how registered social housing providers will be affected by complex changes in the way accounts must now be reported are the subject of a free interactive workshop near Southampton tomorrow. (THURSDAY, JAN 14)

FRS 102, the most significant change in financial reporting for many years,  now applies to registered providers’ financial statements for accounting periods commencing on or after January 1 of last year.

Experts at Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group, will be explaining the major changes that FRS 102 brings to accounting.

The technical workshop, aimed at finance directors, senior finance staff and anyone working on FRS 102 related matters, is being held at the Hilton Hotel, Chilworth, from 9am to 12.30pm.

Julie Mutton and Jonathan Pryor, partners in Smith & Williamson’s assurance and business services team, say the workshop is intended as a refresher on the high level implications of myriad FRS 102 regulations and the sector’s new Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).
