SAINTS fans travelling north today will face tough driving conditions as heavy snow continues to fall.

The Premier League match against Newcastle at St James Park tomorrow lunchtime has seen Saints sell out their allocation of tickets, with many making the journey up today.

They will face significant snow showers throughout this morning and most of the afternoon, with the Met Office issuing yellow snow warnings for the area around the stadium.

These will gradually ease and it will become drier into this evening.

Those making the early morning trip north tomorrow morning will face much drier conditions, but after a cold night there will be widespread frost and icy conditions, with the odd wintery showers.

There are currently major delays on the A1, which had earlier been closed between junctions 44 and 45, causing three-mile tailbacks.

It has now been reopened but motorists are still facing long queues.
