GOAL 36: May 8, 2010 – Saints 3 Southend 1 Lambert was then tripped in the area late in the game, and made no mistake from the resulting penalty kick for his second goal of the game, and his 36th and final Saints goal of an amazing campaign. Before the match Lambert had been presented with the Daily Echo Saints player of the season award.

GOAL 37: August 21, 2010 Saints 1 Leyton Orient 1 Another season, another goal, another free-kick. Lambert put Saints in front with a deflected set-piece from 25 yards, only for Orient to quickly equalise and hold on for a point.

GOAL 38: August 28, 2010 Bristol Rovers 0 Saints 4 A game remembered mostly for being Alan Pardew’s last as Saints manager. Lambert got the third against his former club, netting from the penalty spot, after Lee Barnard had been fouled.

GOALS 39 AND 40: October 2, 2010 Saints 2 Cherries 0 After a run of seven matches without a goal, Lambert was back on the scoresheet, converting a pair of spot kicks to lead Saints to a win against their south coast rivals.
