A FIVE vehicle crash on Hampshire's busiest motorway that caused rush hour delays has been cleared.

Two lanes were blocked on the M27 eastbound just after junction 9 near Fareham.

The incident involving a Volkswagen Polo, a Ford Mondeo, a Renault Megane, a Vauxhall Corsa and a Mercedes A-class happened shortly before 8am.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening, but he has been taken to hospital.

South Central Ambulance Service sent four ambulances and assessed a number of people in the cars at the scene.

It said two people were taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, one with a possible back injury.

It is not thought either person's injuries are life threatening.

Two lanes of the motorway are closed because the accident blocked lane three leaving substantial debris in the road.

The fire service sent three engines, two from Fareham and one from Hightown.
