SEE how the First World War affected the lives of people in Hampshire at a new exhibition in Eastleigh.

This week, residents can get a preview of an upcoming exhibition which will be taking place at Eastleigh Museum next month.

There will be a guided tour of the new First World War exhibition Soldier’s Journey on today and tomorrow, from 2pm to 3pm.

The exhibition, which when shown in Eastleigh will also feature a local perspective, shows how Hampshire went from a quiet Edwardian county to an assembly point for more than eight million troops to train and cross over to fight in France.

The exhibition opens at the museum, on the High Street, on October 11 and will run at 10 different locations across the county until January 11 next year.
