A MAN has appeared in court to face a charge of murdering Pennie Davis who was found stabbed to death in the New Forest earlier this month.

Justin Robertson, 36, appeared at Winchester Crown Court today for a preliminary hearing.

The 36 year old, of no fixed address, appeared shaven-headed and wearing a light blue sweat shirt in the dock.

He spoke only the thank Judge Keith Cutler at the end of the hearing.

Robertson was remanded in custody until another preliminary hearing, set for December 18, when he will enter a plea.

Any trial would not take place until March next year.

Mum-of-five Pennie, a supermarket worker, was found dead in a field at Leygreen Farm, Beaulieu, on September 2.

A post mortem examination concluded that the former Daily Echo staff member, had died of multiple stab wounds.

A total of eight people have been arrested in connection with her killing.

Leanne Doyle, 24, of Beech Crescent, Hythe, is charged with assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
