It was the nostalgic concert that saw thousands of fans go wild to the sounds of the 1980s.

Let’s Rock Southampton was voted a huge success when it took over Southampton Common in July, with famous acts Bananarama, Go West, Howard Jones and Billy Ocean rolling back the years.

Now organisers will unveil the line-up of next year’s Let’s Rock Southampton 2015 on Wednesday.

More than 12,000 music fans enjoyed this year’s event, with many wearing fancy dress and immersing themselves in the fun and festivites which were on offer.

Organiser Matt Smith hailed the event as a success and was quick to confirm to the Daily Echo that the popular festival would make a return to the city in 2015.

He said it prides itself on the family-friendly atmosphere and the next festival will feature a Let’s Rock playpen, including circus workshops with Bigtopmania Circus, face painting, crafts, tricycles and a disco shack.

A new, funky 1980s-themed VIP enclosure will be introduced where visitors can pay a visit to '80s stylists for the ultimate makeover or sit back and relax in the chill-out zone or outdoor seating area.

Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers, Pat Sharp and Dave Benson Phillips, and the Let’s Rock mega mix karaoke will keep the party going in between band changeovers.

Matt told the Daily Echo: “Southampton embraced the 1980s, so we are back with a fantastic line-up to get the party started.

“We had a sell-out event this year and we have increased the capacity for 2015, so expect it to sell out early.

“We are excited to be coming back to Southampton for a second year and we want to grow Let’s Rock Southampton into the biggest ’80s festival in the UK.”

Earlybird tickets go on sale on Wednesday with general tickets on sale from November 1.
