FAMILY and friends of a Hampshire man who went missing in Prague are considering hiring private investigators to help find him, a week on from his disappearance.

Karl Law was last seen outside a nightclub in the Czech Republic capital where he was out with friends on a stag do.

Relatives and pals have been in the the city throughout the week trying to find the 34-year-old from Fareham.

His brother Craig has now been joined by more friends with eight people trying to find the father-of-one, who missed his little boy’s third birthday party at the start of the week.

Neither Hampshire police nor the Foreign and Commonwealth Office would say whether there are any plans to send British officers to join the hunt to find Karl.

There are, however, now plans to hire a private detective as they widen their search.

Craig Law said his family was still hopeful of finding Karl.

He said: “There’s still no |news. More friends have come out today to help us. That makes eight of us.

“It’s going to bolster the support. We’re still feeling confident we’re going to find him.”

A fundraising page has been set up on website hubbub.net by family friend Natalie Moore in order to raise funds as the search effort is stepped up.

Natalie said: “His brother and cousins are making the family proud by their constant searches of the area however this has unfortunately reached a point where we desperately need more money to widen and strengthen the search for Karl.

“We hope to hire private investigators and get more family out to Prague to give extra support in order to find him.

“Karl is a kind and funny person who is greatly missed by his family and friends. The support until now has been amazing and reflects the love people have for him and his family.

“However time is of the essence and at this moment in time we have no solid information or leads as to his where abouts.

“Any help you can give by donating will be appreciated no matter how small.

“With Christmas not long away we drastically need to find Karl to ease him and his family of worry and vulnerability any longer.”

A spokesman from Hampshire police said: “We are aware that police in Prague are investigating the disappearance of Karl Law.

“We have been in touch with his family and are offering them our support.”

A spokesman from the British Embassy said they would continue to offer support to the family.
