A DIABETIC woman was found dead after drug use made her forget to take her insulin, a coroner said.
An inquest heard how Jason Barney found his sister Jennifer Barney, 38, at her flat in Pennington Close, in Pennington, on November 30.
Mr Barney had climbed up to her balcony, asking a neighbour to call the emergency services and was soon joined by other members of his family.
The inquest heard how toxicology results later revealed Ms Barney had taken crack cocaine.
Coroner Grahame Short recorded a death by natural causes and said: “Those who suffer from diabetes do have to control their insulin on a regular basis.
“I don’t know when Jennifer died because it’s clear she had died a little while before she was found, but it’s clear she had been taking cocaine, specifically crack cocaine, and as a consequence of that she forgot to take her insulin.”
