DETECTIVES are hunting a motorist who broke the wrist of a BMW driver during a road rage incident in Hampshire.

The victim was driving between Twyford Village and Hockley Golf Club during the morning rush-hour, when he was overtaken by a Jaguar, which then stopped and blocked the road.

When the victim, who is in his early 60s, tried to get out of his car, the driver of the Jaguar jumped out of his car and repeatedly slammed the door on the BMW driver’s wrist.

The attacker fled the scene, driving off towards the M3 junction at Hockley.

The victim was left with a broken wrist and needs an operation to fix it.

Police are trying to track down the attacker, who is described as white, in his late 40s to early 50s, of a slim build and wearing a black hat and cark clothing. He was driving a dark coloured Jaguar, believed to be a 52 plate.

Officers are keen to speak to any motorists who witnessed the time incident, which happened between 7.15am and 7.25am, on Monday, particularly the lorry driver who stopped to speak to the victim.

Detective Constable Paul Harfield said: “The road was busy at the time of the attack, and a queue of cars had built up behind the BMW.

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, to come forward and speak to us.”

Anyone with any information should contact Det Con Harfield on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
