IT IS the last game of the season which will see them secure their highest ever position in the Premier League.

Saints face second place Manchester City on Sunday with the hope of landing a European finish, if they win and other results go their way.

Thousands of fans are expected to make the journey north to the City of Manchester Stadium to watch the side finish of their 2014-15 campaign.

A sea of orange is expected to be seen at the ground and in Southampton’s bars and pubs as fans pay tribute to Saints’ Dutch manager Ronald Koeman who has guaranteed the side at least a seventh place finish.

It comes as the Daily Echo backs the final push for Saints’ #WeMarchOn campaign to play some of Europe’s best clubs.

For the last few months Saints fans have been dressing up in orange in admiration of the manager who took over the running of the squad at the beginning of this season.

One fancy dress store has seen a boom in business as people deck themselves in a manner of costumes to celebrate the end of the season.

Queensway shop Hollywood Just For Fun has seen people coming through the doors buying up orange wigs, costumes, suits and glasses ready for the game.

Visitors to the Sky Blues’ Etihad ground can expect to see people dressed up in an orange suit like Daily Echo reporter Ed Stilliard,

Some may also like to go paint their faces orange and wear a Tango outfit like that of the Tango man from the soft drink adverts.

Manager Sam Kerr said: “The customers always do a theme and this year it’s orange to honour the manager.

“I would probably say that it’s the wigs which are the most popular. We’ve sold bits and pieces, anything that’s orange they want.

“So far the customers have been mainly couples, a lot of the fans tend to leave it to the last minute so I’m expecting things to get very busy.

“People don’t tend to have a colour theme. I remember when we went up to the premier league people were buying outrageous costumes.

“Somebody wore a Bugs Bunny outfit, I remember thinking ‘how are they going to see anything in that?’ Although Sam, 40, lives in Bournemouth she has been glad to see Southampton perform the way they have.

She said: “I’m pleased with how well they’ve done this year, considering they weren’t doing well a couple of years ago.

“It’s lovely to see that the fans are with team and supporting them the way they do.”

Laura Zamburlini (pictured), who works at Hollywood Just For Fun was also getting into the spirit of things.

She said: “I will be there in spirit. I have a friend who has been a Saints mascot and he’s going to be there. I’m confident that we can get a place in Europe.”
