A DOG walker suffered facial injuries including a possible broken jaw after he was assaulted in Hampshire.

Police are appealing for information after the attack which saw the 45-year-old victim assaulted in New Milton.

The victim was sitting on a bench at New Milton Recreation Ground while his dog was running in the field.

A group of males approached him, immediately the victim thought they looked aggressive and walked away and crossed the road and walked on to Old Milton Road.

However two of the group followed him and as he walked past Tesco he was attacked and suffered facial injuries including a possible fracture to his jaw.

The man who assaulted the victim is described as white, of muscular and stocky build, wore a tight fitting white top and jeans, had short hair and is aged between 16 and 23.

Detective Constable Steve Roman, said: “This was a violent unprovoked attack which took place by a busy road. Were you driving along the road at the time? Did you see what happened? I would urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible.”

The attack happened between 8.30pm and 8.50pm on June 18.
