A YOUNG man was subjected to a daylight knife attack at a block of flats in Southampton.

Now detectives are appealing for information after the assault in the Bevois Valley area of Southampton.

At around 2.30pm on Saturday, July 4 police received a report that a 19-year-old man had been attacked.

Officers believe the assault took place in the lift or the main entrance of Hamwic House, Onslow Road.

The victim was treated at Southampton General Hospital for wounds to his head which are believed to have been caused with a knife.

Detective Constable Mark Bradley, said: “Fortunately the victims' injuries were minor, but this incident could have been much worse. Were you in Hamwick House, or the surrounding area at the time of the incident? Did you see the victim with injuries to his head, or do you know who is responsible for this attack? I would urge anyone with any information about this incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
