A GROUP of scouts were stranded in the sea when their boat ran out of fuel in the Solent today.

The party of 10, from Corf Scout Camp, Newtown, were on a fishing trip aboard the 30ft Harry Ho when it came to a halt in Osborne Bay.

A woman then sustained a head injury after removing the fuel hatch and falling back, cutting the back of her head.

Cowes Lifeboat was called to the scene and took the woman to Trinity Landing, Cowes, where she was taken on to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.

Meanwhile the Harry Ho was refuelled by another boat.
