THIS New Forest pony was keen to smile for the camera, earning the photographer a prestigious prize.
Nick May’s snap of the toothy pony taken at Hatchet Pond, near Beaulieu was the Judges’ Pick in a competition to find the best summer photo of the New Forest.
The Seasonal Snaps contest was organised by the New Forest National Park Authority.
Chairman Barry Rickman commented: “Nick May’s photo is a worthy Judges’ Pick, showing a fine New Forest pony at Hatchet Pond.”
The competition vote winner was Charmaine Mactaggart’s image of a foal in a hazy Forest landscape.
Each of the four winners received one of several prizes.
They have been donated by businesses and include a luxury pamper day for two at The Bath House Spa at New Park Manor, near Brockenhurst, family tickets to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, a tour of Ringwood Brewery and a family ticket for the New Forest Tour.
Seasonal Snaps runs three times each year. The autumn competition is open for entries from November 4 to18.
