A TRAINEE solicitor from Hampshire has proved she is a cut above the rest by donating ten inches of her hair for a leading children's charity.

Annie James - who works for Ringwood law firm Ellis Jones - has had her locks lopped off for the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides real hair wigs to children who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and health conditions such as alopecia.

Annie, 25, has had long hair since her teens but says she was inspired to help after hearing about the charity through a friend.

Colleagues at the law firm and her carpenter boyfriend Matt Collins, 23, are among those who have supported her in raising £408 for the cause.

She said: "After my hair was cut off I posted it in a bag to the charity where it will be made into a wig. They've sent me a certificate and I feel really pleased at helping them out. It's a very good cause."

Charity manager Monica Glass haiked Annie as an "amazing person."This contribution will be blended with others and will be made into a wig for a poorly child. The wonderful amount of fundraising that Annie has raised thanks to her kind and generous supporters will purchase a further wig for a different child. Thank you so very much Annie!"

Nigel Smith, Ellis Jones' Managing Partner, said: "Annie is a popular member of our team and everyone is very proud of her efforts."
