IT is an annual event, but Jed Hollyoake’s festive fundraiser was close to his heart.
Each year Jed lights up his street with the help of neighbours for a good cause. But after suffering a heart condition last year, he wanted to raise the money to buy a defibrillator.
His efforts were rewarded with several hundred people packing into Byron Road in New Milton to see the light switch on.
Along with the lights, crowds were treated to entertainment on a make-shift stage whilst younger visitors also managed to see Father Christmas who was handing out gifts.
Donations were collected from the crowds who also paid to have a picture taken with for X-factor contestant Charlie Lenehan from Bars and Melody who was given the honour of officially switching on the display.
