GRITTERS are being deployed on Hampshire's roads as an arctic blast is set to hit the county.
Thermometers in Southampton will plunge from 6C to 1C, with the coldest spell coming at about 6am on Monday morning.
It will seem much colder and the Met Office says temperatures will feel up to five degrees lower.
And conditions will be even worse on Monday night and Tuesday morning, when fog and 0C temperatures are forecast.
Hampshire County Council announced that gritters will be out this evening in response to the predicted weather.
