A HOME in Southampton was saved from going up in flames when firefighters were called out late last night.
Firefighters from Hightown, St Mary’s and Fareham fire stations were called to a coach house in Holly Hill Lane where a blaze had started.
When crews arrived at the empty home in Sarisbury Green they found flames coming out of the roof of the two-storey property with a four-bedroom apartment underneath and a garage on the ground floor.
Crew manager Gary Brook said crews were called out at about 10.55pm.
He said it had been going for about 20 minutes when he arrived.
“We were probably on top of it within 10 minutes. It was just dying down from that point,” he said.
It is believed the fire started as a result of an electrical fault.
