A PADDLING POOL targeted by vandals in Eastleigh has been re-opened.

Eastleigh Borough Council has confirmed on social media that the Fleming Park paddling pool is now open.

A council spokesperson said: “Very pleased to announce that Fleming Park paddling pool has re-opened after repairs and is ready for use on this lovely sunny day.”

As reported by the Daily Echo, the paddling pool was set to be closed for up to two weeks after vandals stole the pool plug.

A week after the incident the pool is open again following repairs.

Eastleigh Borough Council, who own the pool, are still appealing to anyone with information to contact police as the incident is being treated as theft.

The pool is now expected to stay open at the back of Fleming Park near the play area for young children to use from 10am till 7pm every day during the summer season until the first weekend of September.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that the theft had been reported to them on June 21.
