RESIDENTS in Southampton were hit by a power cut.
Southern Electric has confirmed 159 homes in the Millbrook and Maybush areas of the city were without power.
Residents living in Redbridge and Totton also reported being affected by intermittent power cuts.
A spokesman confirmed that engineers are currently at the substation where the fault occurred, and the cause is being investigated.
However, having earlier aimed to restore power by 11.30pm, residents had to wait until the early hours of the morning.
The spokesman said back-up generators were currently en route to the area so homes could have power restored.
She added: "We would like to apologise to our customers, we will work hard to get them back online as soon as possible."
