IT certainly brought them to the yard.
Police and firefighters who rushed to tackle a "suspicious liquid" being poured through a Hampshire letterbox yesterday have been left all shaken up - after discovering it was a strawberry milkshake.
Emergency crews arrived at Terrier Close in Hedge End this afternoon after two cannisters, one containing pink liquid and one containing white liquid, were thrown through a family's door.
Sharon Piper, 36, was in the house at the time.
She said: "I was in the house and I heard water being poured through the letter box, at first I thought I had left a tap on.
"It is a bit frightening because it is your home."
Miss Piper, who was left to clean the substance off the door and carpet, added that the liquid appeared to be a milkshake.
She added: "We have not got any enemies that I know of, they thought it could be the wrong house."
A Hampshire Fire and rescue spokesman said: "We believe around one litre of an unknown liquid was thrown over a house in the road, but after inspection it is not believed to be hazardous.
"We were called as the resident was concerned by what the liquid could be.”
A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene to reports of a suspicious liquid being found in one of the houses.
The spokesman added: “Police do not believe there is any risk to the community.”
Crews were called at around 2.30pm and left just before 4.30pm.
