A MAN is in a life threatening condition in Southampton after "'falling from height' near a major road.

Police were called to a 'concern for welfare' call at 11.45am.

They closed a section of Wessex Way in Bournemouth at the junction with St Paul's Roundabout.

South Western Ambulance Service said a man was being treated for life-threatening injuries.

He is being taken to Southampton General Hospital.

Motorists are reporting traffic delays as a result of the closure.

There is congestion towards Lansdowne Road and Charminster Road.
