AN AWARD-winning pub near Romsey is celebrating another Five-Star Inn rating from Visit England.
The Duke on The Test, in Greatbridge Road, passed the recent inspection with flying colours in all areas, achieving an 89 per cent approval rating – just one per cent more than its last assessment.
The pub, which underwent a major refurbishment in 2022 after a five-year closure, scored highly in food quality, cleanliness and friendliness sections.
A spokesperson for Visit England said: “The Duke on The Test comfortably achieved the Visit England Five-Star Inn rating and each section secured a high rating. The scoring has increased since last year which is highly commendable.
“The quality of food and the excellent levels of presentation (96%) are a real credit to the kitchen brigade and add considerably to the overall experience at the inn.”

Mark Pinn, general manager at the pub, said: “We are delighted to retain our Five-Star Inn rating and for us to improve upon last year’s score is testimony to our great team here at The Duke on The Test.
“We have been really pleased with the continued feedback from customers and the support they have given us. We have created something very special here and continue to welcome back regulars as well as new customers."
