A man who stole two charity boxes from a climbing centre has walked free from court. 

Benjamin Hollman stole two charity boxes from The Golden Gecko Climbing at Greatbridge Road in Romsey

He stole the boxes between January 29 and February 1, 2022.

Hollman, of Station Road South, Totton admitted burglary at Southampton Magistrates' Court. 

He also admitted a charge of producing a controlled drug of Class B. 

This relates to nine cannabis plants he produced between December 22, 2021, and March 23, 2022, in Romsey.

The 32-year-old was given a community order to run until July 28 next year.

He must complete up to 25 rehabilitation days and 100 hours of unpaid work. 

An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs. 

Hollman was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £95 surcharge. 

This must be paid in full by March 29, 2024.
