The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

MATTHEW BROWN, 38, of Thornhill Road, Fawley admitted two charges of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in New Bond Street, Weymouth. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay £200 compensation. Brown was also ordered to pay £85 court costs. 

TREVOR O'NEILL, 29, of Bower Close, Weston pleaded guilty to drug driving a Nissan Qashqai on the M3 at Southampton. He also admitted driving without insurance. O'Neill was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £120. He was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £48 surcharge.

DYLAN MASON, 26, of Macarthur Crescent, Southampton admitted drink driving on the M3 northbound at Winchester. He was caught with 207 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams. He was disqualified for 24 months and fined £576. Mason must pay £85 court costs.

PETER MAGUIRE, 57, of South Street, Pennington pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at Marryat Road, New Milton. He was fined £40 and must pay £85 court costs plus a £16 surcharge. 

SARDAR SINGH, 26, of Millbrook Road West, Southampton admitted to possessing a knife in a public place, assault by beating of an emergency worker and causing criminal damage to a custody cell belonging to Hampshire Constabulary. The offences were committed in Southampton. Singh was jailed for six months and must pay £150 compensation. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the knife. 

JASON APPLIN, 51, of Lulworth Close, Southampton pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled drug of Class B, namely cannabis in Southampton. He also admitted to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress. Applin was fined £120 and must pay £85 court costs plus a £48 surcharge. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
