A TREE has been badly damaged by vandals who have cut it, hammered in nails and attached planks and a platform.
The alleged criminal damage to the tree along the footpath by the river in Fishlake Meadows has been reported to the police.
The damage, near Greatbridge Road, is believed to have been made between February 14 and 21.

According to a nearby resident, who asked to remain anonymous, branches have been cut off, a rope swing has been attached, gauges cut into the tree trunk, nails hammered in, planks erected up the trunk and a platform has been installed higher up.
Rubbish cans and debris have also been cleared from the area.
The Environment Agency was unable to comment as the activity is not in its domain.
Test Valley Borough Council has been contacted for comment.
