Comedy hip hop group, Goldie Lookin Chain will perform at the Engine Rooms in Southampton this weekend.

Taking place on Saturday, March 9, the group will be supported by local talent Jamie Ryves and DJ Askham.

Goldie Lookin Chain formed in 2000 in their hometown of Newport, Wales.

Known for their humorous and sometimes explicit songs, the group reached mainstream success following the release of their single ‘Guns Don’t Kill People Rappers Do,’ which reached number three in the UK singles charts in 2004.

Their music also satirises the hip hop genre by highlighting the band’s deliberately unglamorous image.

It’s another notable name to perform at the Engine Rooms in recent months after Spandau Ballet’s, Martin Kemp took to the stage in the city to play a night full of popular 80s tunes in February, after Take That’s, Howard Donald delighted fans with a 90-minute setlist featuring classic house music.

The Engine Rooms will open their doors from 6pm Saturday night, with the entrants admitted until 10pm.
