VANDALS targeted sports equipment, cars and even a memorial bench in Alresford over the bank holiday weekend Police say one incident on April 30 saw car mirrors and two trees damaged in the Drove Lane area.

Overnight May 1 a memorial bench in Arlebury Park was damaged, during the day the side of a car was vandalised and scratched in Jesty Road.

At Sun Hill School Grounds, gardening equipment, bins, basketball and netball goals were damaged after entry was gained to the area.

A police spokesperson said: “Please let me reassure you that these mindless acts of criminal damage will not be tolerated and will be investigated in due course by your local Alresford Neighbourhood Policing Team.”
