MEMBERS of the public can debate the future of a Southampton walk-in centre with health bosses at two meetings taking place this month.

As reported by the Daily Echo, Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) wants to close Bitterne Walk-in Centre as it does not consider it to be cost-effective.

It’s the second bid to shut the facility and has prompted anger from some residents who say they will be losing out on a vital service on the eastern side of Southampton.

A public consultation meeting with the CCG takes place at Christ the King and St Colman Catholic Church Hall, in Bitterne Road East, from 6.30pm to 8pm on July 9.

Another meeting follows on July 28 at Central Hall, in St Mary Street, also from 6.30pm to 8pm.
