THE night ‘Floppy’ fell asleep while playing a shot during a snooker league match has gone down in Romsey folklore.
It was about 20 years ago that the Romsey Comrades Club member, whose name the Daily Echo has been asked not to reveal, attempted to bridge over the pack using the spider.
Current B team player Kevin Fryer witnessed the bizarre event.
“He’d been to his brother’s stag weekend,” said Fryer. “I wouldn’t say he was drunk but he was definitely tired.
“While he was concentrating, he fell asleep and his head went into the pack of reds.”
The referee awarded four points for the foul and the frame continued.
