The Daily Echo brings you a round-up of the transfer stories making the headlines across the rest of the media today...

Saints are closing in on the signing of Benfica attacking midfielder Filip Djuricic, according to the Daily Mail.

The Serbian international, 22, has been on loan at German club Mainz this season, but the paper reports he could cancel his deal there in order to move to St Mary’s.

The Mail say that Saints are making the move, as manager Ronald Koeman is keen to add to his attacking options after Shane Long was ruled out for at least a month with fractured ribs.

Djuricic is an international teammate of Saints star Dusan Tadic and has been capped 19 times by his country.

Djuricic, who came through the Red Star Belgrade youth ranks, played three seasons with Dutch club Heerenveen, before Benfica paid about £4.5m for him in 2013.

He made just 11 league, and four cup, appearances for the Portuguese club, however, before being loaned to the Bundesliga.

Elsewhere, Koeman is being linked with another of his former Feyenoord midfielders.

The Saints boss is reportedly keen on signing 20-year-old Dutch youth international Tonny Vilhena, also according to the Mail.

Vilhena was a regular in the Dutch Erevidisie last season under Koeman, appearing in 32 of the club’s 34 games.

He has played 16 time this season.

Koeman was this week linked with a move for his former Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie.

The 25-year-old Clasie appeared for Holland in last summer’s World Cup and has frequently been mentioned as a potential Saints target even since Koeman took over at St Mary’s.

Koeman could be in the market for a new midfielder if Jack Cork fails to sign the new contract he has been offered.

The manager has given Cork until the end of this week to make his mind up.
