Saints are set to jet off for a snowy break in Switzerland once tonight’s game against Crystal Palace is out of the way to partake in some team bonding before the final ten games of the season.
Ronald Koeman will lead his players in the trip, which will depart tomorrow and return on Saturday.
There will be no footballs, goals or cones to worry about, with the focus on refreshing the players and further team spirit, as well as furthering the Saints brand in the home country of the club’s owner, Katharina Liebherr.
“We go to Switzerland. I call it a team-building trip and we go from Wednesday morning to Saturday afternoon, together with the team,” explained Koeman.
“It’s nice for Ralph (Krueger) and for Katharina, because it’s Switzerland.
“It’s good publicity for them, and it’s good for us.
“It’s not lying 30 degrees on the beach. We do a little bit more healthy trip.
“It’s good for the body, it’s good for the mind to come back and to prepare the next game.”
Koeman also confirmed that no training would be taking place during the trip – which is just as well, as further snow and temperatures consistently below freezing are forecast for their stay.
“No, we don’t train,” smiled Koeman. “We do different activities – in the snow.”
