Andover’s domination from the start against Sandown & Shanklin netted them a 43-11 London 3 South-West bonus point win.
An early try from Charlie Waite, below, put the league leaders in front before Dave Catt crossed the line to extend their lead.
Simon Preece added a third before half-time and second-half tries from Niko Rowe, George Roscoe, Sam Froggett and Tom Waite, along with four Charlie Waite conversions, completed the home side’s scoring.
The Hurricanes’ points came from two penalties and a late try. Andover coach Andy Waite said: “Conditions weren’t great but we ran the ball well and moved it with real pace right from the start.
“We scored some lovely tries and, with Eastleigh slipping up again, we are now in a strong position.
“We have another tough away game at New Milton, so I think we’ll know a lot more after that.”
