The Daily Echo brings you a round-up of the Saints-related transfer rumours appearing in the media today...

SAINTS right-back Nathaniel Clyne is expected to complete a medical at Liverpool ahead of his move away from Southampton.

The 24-year-old is expected to finalise a £12.5m move from St Mary's in the coming days, and reports in the national media suggest his medical will take place today.

Saints initially turned down a bid of £10m, only for the Anfield side to return with an offer of £10.5m plus a further £2m of add-ons, taking the valuation closer to the £15m that Southampton had hoped to get for Clyne.

The club had offered the defender a significantly improved contract to stay at St Mary's, but the England international continually stalled on committing and, with only one year left on his deal, the club feels it has no option but to sell.

Clyne is expected to sign a five-year contract at Anfield.

Once the deal is complete, it will mean Brendan Rodgers has spent over £60m on Saints players in the last 12 month.

Despite that huge outlay, he could only guide his side to one place and two points higher than Southampton in the Premier League last season.

Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror report that Saints are preparing to begin life without Morgan Schneiderlin by snapping up another French youngster.

They say the club is targeting £15m-rated Marseille midfielder Gianelli Imbula, who is also being watched by Tottenham.

Belgian-born Imbula, 22, who has represented France at youth level, is said to favour a move to England after previously being linked with Inter Milan and Porto.

Meanwhile, another name linked with Saints by the Mirror is Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet, who shares agents with Saints’ James Ward-Prowse and former St Mary’s stars Gareth Bale and Luke Shaw.

But they say Saints face stiff competition for the Belgian’s signature from German champions Bayern Munich, as well as Premier League heavyweights Manchester City and Arsenal.

But the Gunners have apparently pulled out of the running for Morgan Schneiderlin, according to the Daily Mail.

They claim that the Saints midfielder is now poised to complete a £25m move to Manchester United, although they add the "negotiations may take time".

The Sun think there might be a quick resolution, though, saying that United aim to wrap up the deal within the next 24 hours, with arrangements made for a medical, ahead of the 25-year-old signing a four-year contract at Old Trafford.
