AFTER battering Brockenhurst 10-0 at Grigg Lane on Saturday, Winchester City had to content themselves with just one goal tonight.
A second-half Adam Tomasso effort separated the sides as Paul Masters’ Southern League newcomers edged past Martin Beck's Alresford Town 1-0 at the Denplan City Ground.
Tomasso's had been the last name on the scoresheet at Brock, taking City into double figures. Warren Bentley accounted for half of the ten-goal tally with Dan Cann and Geoff Dunn bagging two apiece.
Brock manager Pat McManus tweeted afterwards: “Games will get MUCH easier for @BrockenhurstFC after today’s punishing 90 minutes against a very impressive @wincityfc”
