BLACKFIELD & Langley dropped their first home points of the Sydenhams Premier Division season, held 2-2 by Verwood Town tonight.

The Watersiders, who host a huge FA Cup third qualifying round tie against Maidenhead United on Saturday, twice took the lead through Ekow Elliott.

But Verwood, who had seen a Charlie Gajic header strike the bar at 1-0 down, defended well and hit back on the counter-attack through Tyler Rutten and Joe Wood.

Fawley AFC looked like holding league leaders Salisbury to a goalless draw at the Ray Mac but, much to the relief of a 520-strong crowd, Sam Wilson and ex-Saint Dan Demkiv struck late for a 2-0 Whites win.

Moneyfields’ slump continued with a 5-1 defeat at AFC Portchester. Alex Baldacchino (penalty), Jason Parish (2), Joe Bye and Louie Castles struck for the Royals with Steve Hutchings bagging Moneys’ sole reply.

Darren Ritchie scored for Lymington Town in their 1-1 draw at Bemerton, while the games at Fareham and Alresford were postponed after heavy rain.

Sholing, the 2013/14 FA Vase winners, are safely through to the first round proper of lower non-league’s premier cup competition.

After being held 1-1 at extra-time on Friday, they trounced US Portsmouth 6- 0 in the replay through Jamie Bulpitt (2), Byron Mason, Dan Mason and Wembley match-winner Marvin McLean (2).

The Boatmen are now at home to another Sydenhams One side, Laverstock & Ford, in the first round proper on Saturday, October 31.

Horndean were also replay winners, 3-1 at Longwell Green Sports, as were Alton Town who triumphed 3-0 at Bracknell.

The Deans, who have signed former Follands and Team Solent defender Matt Burt, now host Barnstaple, while Michael Charles’s Alton head to Haywards Heath Town.
