STORM Imogen may have moved on, but Brockenhurst were still blown away in a 7-3 Sydenhams Premier Division defeat at Bemerton Heath last night.

Graham Kemp’s Harlequins turned around a 3-2 deficit with five second-half goals – three of them from ex-Christchurch hotshot Russell Cook who netted four in total.

A cracking first half saw Brock’s Matt Vokes punish Heath ’keeper Max Frampton for two misjudged kicks for a 2-0 lead inside 15 minutes.

The Harlequins pulled one back through skipper Jack Slade before Scott Joyce, returning to his old club, restored Brock's two-goal advantage with a neat finish.

Cook was quickest to react to a goalmouth scramble to reduce the arrears before half time.

Jack Lovell equalised with a shot across the 'keeper on the hour and Bemerton roared on with four goals in a frenetic 17-minute spell.

Ex-Brock man Brad McGookin smashed the hosts ahead for the first time and then Cook doubled their ascendancy from the penalty spot after Tom Jeffes had been upended.

Cook then made sure of the points with two goals in as many minutes, moving Bemerton up to ninth.

The night’s other Sydenhams top flight fixture ended all square, 2-2, between Lymington Town (Nathan Hurst, own goal) and Whitchurch United (Aaron Jarvis, David Parry).

AFC Portchester booked a Russell Cotes Cup semi-final tie at home to Otterbourne by defeating Southern League neighbours Petersfield Town 3-1.

Petersfield led at the interval through an Oli Bailey goal, but Joe Bye (penalty), Rob Evans and sub Miles Everett saw the Graham Rix's Royals through to the last four.

Gosport Borough will play either Blackfield & Langley or Fleet Town in the other RCC semi-final.
