SAINTS legend Rickie Lambert will pull on the famous red and white stripes once more for Kelvin Davis's testimonial next month.

The popular striker has become the first name to be confirmed for the Promotions Eleven, who will take on Ronald Koeman's first team on Tuesday 17, May at St Mary's, which will mark Davis's ten years of service to the club.

The West Bromwich Albion man rose to prominence at Saints after firing the club to promotion from League One and the Championship and into to the Premier League.

Lambert arrived at St Mary’s in August 2009 with Saints bottom of the third division thanks to their 10-point post-administration deduction.

He left just under five years later with over a century of goals and a place in the hearts of Saints fans.

In that time he was top scorer at Saints for four of his five seasons, and also won senior England international caps and went to a World Cup finals.

During his phenomenal time with Saints, Lambert blasted 106 league goals in 207 appearances, and netted a further 11 in 28 cup ties.

He was instrumental in Saints' rise from League One to the Premier League, with a Johnstone' Paint Trophy medal thrown in for good measure.

In the summer of 2014, Lambert sealed a return to boyhood club Liverpool and later joined current club West Bromwich Albion.

The club have stated that more players for the Promotion Eleven will be confirmed in due course.
