BLACKFIELD & Langley player-coach Tim Sills has missed out on an FA Cup reunion with his old club Weymouth.

The Watersiders would have travelled to the Terras had they come through Saturday’s preliminary round test against Southern One South & West outfit Paulton Rovers.

But having taken a fifth-minute lead when Carl Preston’s deflected shot fell for ex-Saint Jamie White to score, Blackfield’s hopes of an upset came unstuck with a 2-1 defeat.

A foul on Reeko Best presented Jordan Ricketts with a 14th-minute penalty equaliser and on 22 minutes Paulton capitalised on a half-cleared corner, the ball back-heeled into the path of Will Hailston who drove it across ’keeper Brad Snelling.

Blackfield were reduced to ten men in the second half when another of their ex-Weymouth contingent Luke Winsper was sent off.

It was curtains too for Blackfield's fellow Sydenhams Premier hopefuls Team Solent, beaten 4-1 at bogey club Cadbury Heath.

Stunned by a first-minute Matt Huxley opener, the Students trailed 3-0 at the break with Jamie Horgan doubling their advantage before Huxley struck again.

Solent rallied through Pip Nolan in the 79th minute before a late Simon McElroy penalty sealed their fate.

*CRAIG Stanley scored twice for Andover Town as they battled past ten-man Spelthorne Sports 3-2 in the FA Cup preliminary round.

Stanley’s haul included a long-range special which secured victory for the Sydenhams Premier visitors with 15 minutes to play.

Winger Adam Grange had given Andover an early lead in Surrey, springing the offside trap and calmly slotting the ball under goalkeeper Dane Buss.

The Combined Counties League outfit levelled through Lee Staples shortly before half time, but they fell behind again when Stanley beat Buss with a low drive after bursting down the right.

Spelthorne got back on terms moments later when Tommy Mooney dribbled through the heart of Andover's defence.

But the visitors won it on 75 minutes when Stanley’s sizzling 30-yarder sailed into the top corner.

Spelthorne's Rob Smith was dismissed late on, shown a second yellow for a foul on match-winner Stanley.

Next up for John Robson’s Andover is a visit from Southern One Central outfit Farnborough on September 3.

Bemerton Heath won their all-Wiltshire tie 3-1 at Amesbury Town with Jack Slade, Jake Rawkins and Jon Blake on target. The Harlequins now travel to Basingstoke Town.
