WILY campaigner Ronnie Moore has taken next to no time to start working his magic at Eastleigh.

Moore goals, Moore points, Moore confidence were the order of the day away at ten-man Bromley as the Spitfires cruised to a sizzling 5-0 Vanarama National League victory.

Former Sunderland striker Mikael Mandron, who went on to plunder a hat-trick, struck twice before Bromley midfielder Connor Dymond was shown a straight red for a high tackle on Jason Taylor late in the first half.

Despite being a man down, the hosts almost clawed one back in the 51st-minute when Millwall loanee Alfie Pavey dragged a dream chance wide.

Eastleigh’s response was to hit Bromley with a third and from then on in it was plain sailing for the pumped-up Spitfires who have scored seven goals and banked a maximum six points in Moore’s two games in charge.

Frenchman Mandron took just five minutes to make his mark, stroking the ball home after Adam Dawson’s teasing cross had ricocheted into his path.

The 21-year-old then doubled the advantage on 25 minutes, again showing razor-sharp reactions after skipper Ryan Cresswell had miscued his shot.

As Dymond trudged apologetically down the Hayes Lane tunnel on 35 minutes, with him went any realistic hope of a Bromley fightback, albeit that they gave it a real go at the start of the second half.

But come the 57th minute they were three down when Jake Howells slid the ball under onrushing keeper Alan Julian for 3-0.

As Eastleigh pushed on, more gaps appeared in the Bromley defence and Mandron duly completed his treble with 25 minutes remaining following a sweet one-two with Andy Drury.

Fittingly it was wideman Dawson who bagged Eastleigh’s fifth, crowning an outstanding display with a cool finish set up by James Constable.

It was hard to see how the afternoon could have got any better for the travelling Spitfires fans, but the sight of skipper and right-back Joe Partington making a 74th-minute comeback from injury was the icing on the cake.

Satisfied boss Moore said: “We opened up nice and bright and got the two goals.

“The sending-off definitely helped us, but we were bang on top anyway at 2-0.

“We were a bit fortunate just after half-time when they had a great chance. All of a sudden, it could have been a different game.

“But we went straight up the other end and scored and it was game, set and match.

"It won't be like that all season, but we'll enjoy the good times."

Moore had promised his players two days off if they picked up four points from six. They have more than earned them after exceeding expectations and will return to training on Thursday in preparation for Saturday’s home showdown with North Ferriby United (3pm).
