WINCHESTER City limbered up for Saturday’s big FA Cup third qualifying round trip to Harrow Borough by reeling off their fourth straight victory tonight.

But while Ian Saunders’ Citizens were basking in the satisfaction of a 1-0 league win at Wantage Town, it was an horrific night for divisional rivals AFC Totton in the Southern One South & West.

The second-to-bottom Stags suffered a second-half cave-in to be crushed 6-1 at home by Wimborne Town in front of a 244 crowd.

Dan Munday gave Totton half-time hope, digging out a 44th-minute leveller to wipe out Stefan Penny’s earlier strike.

But it was downhill all he way after the break as Magpies marksman Toby Holmes helped himself to a hat-trick, backed by an own goal and new signing Jack Lovell’s first for the Cuthbury club.

Former Totton striker Craig Feeney struck in the 63rd-minute at Wantage to push Winchester up to 16th spot.

Howard Neighbour crossed and Joe Briggs nodded on for Feeney to hammer home.

Salisbury climbed to eighth by defeating Didcot Town 3-2 at the Ray Mac – but Steve Claridge's men did it the hard way.

Two Sam Barder goals put the Whites in trouble before Tommy Wright pulled one back before the break.

Salisbury’s second-half dominance was rewarded as Justin Bennett struck in the 70th and 84th minutes to turn the game on its head.

*Blackfield & Langley made up ground on Sydenhams Premier leaders Moneyfields by winning 2-1 at Lymington. Carl Preston opened the scoring and ex-Saint Jamie White bagged the second-half winner.

That leaves the Watersiders just a point off top spot after Moneyfields required a last-gasp Nathan Paxton strike to rescue a 2-2 draw at Newport IoW.

Gary Austin had put the Money men ahead only for Port to hit back through Josh Younie and Connor Kelly (pen).

For the second successive Tuesday there were goals galore at the Universal Stadium where Sholing clawed back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with AFC Portchester.

Zac Mouland’s looping opener for the Boatmen was soon wiped out as Joe Bye, Jake Pappel and Miles Everett put Portchester in command.

But, having reduced the deficit from the penalty spot following a foul on Jake Hoole, goal machine Dan Mason pulled a 20-yard special out of the hat in stoppage time.

There were plenty of goals too at Western Way where Fawley AFC were bulldozed 7-0 by Bemerton Heath.

Will Robinson, Jon Blake and Scott Joyce all bagged braces, backed by a Connor Doe single.

Gareth Bricknell earned Cowes Sports a 1-1 draw against ten-man Brockenhurst at Grigg Lane, cancelling an early Mark Barker strike.

Bottom-of-the-table Verwood Town registered their first league win 3-1 at Hamworthy United through Russell Dyer, Alex Eaton and Ryan Kelly, while Andover Town (Charlie Gunson, Luke Dempsey) triumphed 2-1 at Amesbury (Craig Wheeler).
