Saints fan Adrian Lutman joined Franny Benali on his epic 1,000-mile run and is urging his fellow supporters to join him and get behind the former Dell favourite.

“There should be more Saints fans getting involved,” he said. “I joined in for a quick 30 minutes.

“I just think what he’s doing is absolutely incredible, doing 45 miles a day is ridiculous.

“I know it’s a good boost for him to see people saying ‘hello’ or giving a thumbs up, so more people need to do that.

“I hope he gets a great reception in front on 32,000 people on Saturday at St Mary’s.

“He’s just a normal bloke who I grew up watching play football.

“It’s just fantastic.”
