FORMER Saints star Rickie Lambert broke his scoring duck for Liverpool by netting in the second minute of his side's 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace this afternoon.
The 32-year-old, who scored 106 goals in 207 appearances for Saints, was one of a trio of Saints players signed by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers this summer, as midfielder Adam Lallana and centre-half Dejan Lovren also made the switch to Anfield.
However, the trio have endured a slow start to their time on Merseyside, while their former club have enjoyed a record-breaking start to the campaign so far.
And, though Liverpool fan Lambert finally got off the mark for his home town club, there was more misery for the Reds as goals from Dwight Gayle, Joe Ledley and Mile Jedinak condemned them to defeat at Selhurst Park.
