Saints might have been one of the biggest spenders in the Premier League last summer, but they shelled out one of the lowest amounts on agent fees.

Figures released today show that the club paid £2,766,444 to agents in the period from October 1, 2013, to September 30, 2014.

There were 14 clubs in the Premier League who spent more than that.

That is despite Saints having bought around £60m worth of players during the most recent transfer window, with only Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United having exceeded that in the summer.

In total, Premier League clubs spent £115.2m on agent fees during the most recent reporting period.

Chelsea, at just under £16.8m, paid out the most, while Burnley spent the least, with £711,024.
